Crazies For Kerry
Supporters of Kerry (or more likely haters of Bush) gathered for a their first group therapy session in Florida yesterday, and according to Boca Raton News they screamed "epithets at President Bush as they shared their emotions with licensed mental health counselors."
The first of several free noontime therapy sessions at the American Health Association in Boca Raton was designed to treat what mental health counselors have dubbed Post Election Selection Trauma (PEST). “If I had a cardboard cutout of President Bush, and these people wanted to throw darts at it, I would let them do it,” Robert J. Gordon, AHA executive director, told the Boca News after the session. “It’s no joke. People with PEST were traumatized by the election. If you even mention religion, their faces turn blister-red as they shout at Bush.”
Oh no! Not religion... Ahhhhhhhh! What a sad bunch. Post Election Selection Trauma? I guess that's the new way to describe mental illness that can be blamed on the election. I keep thinking about what Kerry supporters and Bush haters would be doing today if Bush had lost. I imagine that if you multiplied the gloating I've done since November 2, you could increase that 10 fold, and it wouldn't even come close to the kind of activity the Left would have been engaging following a Kerry victory.
Reading through this article, one thing is clear, Bush's victory is not the cause of their mental instability. When you look at the things these anguished people lament about, they are regurgitations of Democratic talking points and Kerry campaign rhetoric.
- “I’m scared ... Democracy is at stake and nobody is rising to protest this president.”
“I want to be a patriot, but it’s impossible to be a patriot in an immoral war.”
“Bush is breaking up marriages and dividing families by keeping our troops in Iraq.”
The meeting facilitator also said, “The media outlets, especially Rush Limbaugh and his ilk on talk radio, scare our patients to death.” One patient is reported to have that he thinks the country "is now run by fascists." "Another felt personally threatened by the president’s love for big business. Many believe Bush is going to draft their grandchildren. The anxiety may not affect them every day, but it affects their energy level.”
Finally at the end of the article it is revealed that "many of the Kerry supporters had visited [the trauma specialist] for severe mental problems prior to the election." So here we have people with a history of mental problems claiming to have a bogus condition called Post Election Selection Trauma and repeating arguments and accusations made by the Democrats.
Who made these wackos even worse?? John Kerry and the Democratic Party.

Initially when I read this story I laughed so hard I almost cried..but then I realized we should all cry because this is a Shakspearean comic tragedy.
Think about it..people so ill informed, so misguided, so unable to find truth yet the truth is there for those that seek it, so willing to be led like sheep..funny but tragic

What a bunch of numbnuts. These are the same folks who sport stickers calling W a Nazi, and hurl invective against him and slam him with innuendo. And now they're the victims? I guess they are in agony, so there is justice after all.
The thing that is outlandish weird is that these folks simply don't understand the pact that is a democracy.

They're really serious about this PEST thing! I always figured it was one of Rush's jokes (all humor grounded in reality, as he says).
Now, poetic justice would be getting PEST declared an official mental incompetence so we can take away the voting rights of sufferers.

Oh Come On!!!!!!
these people just have problems regardless of who is president! and the therapists are making big bucks because of it...yeah, i need a big fat pay raise, im going to invent a new dissorder and cash in on it!
you know, if Kerry had one, you WOULD NOT be reading this stuff about Bush supporters! rather you would be reading about how Bush supporters are on their hands and knees praying!
these people make me laugh, but in another sense, they make me ill.

ROTFLOL...oh my gosh! I want to cry with laughter! This is so funny...LOL...LOL...now wait...what's next?! PBID (President Bush Innaugeration Disorder) (spelling?) LOL...well...it seems to me to be an over reaction. If they do not enjoy it that much...maybe they should move to Iran, North Korea or probably a better spot Canada. LOL!

This really is so incredibly pathetic. I love the part saying that Rush and others "scare our patients to death." Gee, I guess everyone who doesn't agree with their paranoid delusions better shut up, so as not to scare them to death!
Yeah, much better that they keep listening to people who perpetuate their twisted fantasies.
I heard that one psychologist from Florida, Dr. Schooler, on a radio show a couple of weeks ago and he said he doesn't try to present his distraught patients with facts (otherwise known as REALITY!), that his job was to make them "feel good." Talk about nuts.

proudAFwife - I couldn't agree with
you more. I know that on election day
I spent most of it on my kness praying.
I wonder what the Kerry supporters were
doing? Consulting their psychics?
I heard the therapist , don't know if
he has got a "real" degree or not, on
Sean Hannity this afternoon. He said
that these people felt that war was
immoral. Well, duh! Does anyone want to go to war? Unfortunately, war is a necessary
evil that every generation has had to face
since the beginning of man.
If liberals were in the majority during the colonial period - we'd all be
speaking with a British accent singing
"God save the Queen."
He also kept saying that it was not the
White House anymore but the "Right House".
He said that people want a president not
God in the White House. Hello? And he's
the therapist?
I always felt that God had a sense of
humor. Maybe we're being forced to deal with these nuts as punishment for being the
silent majority for so long.

HAHAHA! I like that AZM! So right, so right. Serve them right. (that's 3 rights in a row.)
And another good one. "I always felt that God had a sense of humor. Maybe we're being forced to deal with these nuts as punishment for being the silent majority for so long." -ccteacher
I love these quotes! Thanks AZM and ccteacher. Kind of funny if you put these two incredibly funny but true quotes next to each other. The left AND right are both being punished. One for being hateful, being nuts, being anti-America, anti-decency, anti-Christian, etc. And the other is punished for being silent and meek. Well, we'll just have to fix that don't we. Lets not be punished next time with all these nuts and crazies and haters that we have to deal with and hear about.

ccteacher,

Go to:

The Kerry blog is still up, and so are the last several threads from election night.
Surprisingly, the word "pray" and its various derivations were mentioned MANY times.
I could care less about these morons; let them do this for 4 years; maybe it'll keep them off the streets for the kook protests that they usually frequent.

Typical of Democrats to blame everything on something else but themselves. PEST ... How appropriate! They are nothing but a PEST to society.

Mark Levin read this on the air the other day. Check out my post on the subject. I have a couple of hysterical Mark Levin sound bites that you might enjoy! :)

Another scam artist at work.... what an opportunity for capitalizing on anti-capitalist liberals.
I guess this just confirms that the mental health of Conservatives is in better shape than that of liberals.

I don't think we should even acknowledge the acronym "PEST." Election-Selection? The whole thing is a not-so-vague reference to the crazies belief that Bush's 2000 election (and probably this year's as well, since they keep trying to recount Ohio) was really a "selection" by the Supreme Court.
Oh, yeah, and which millions of voters were supposed to be "this dumb?"

Wait a minute, lets get serious here.
If these people really do have a mental disorder, we should be trying to help them. But look at what the shrinks are getting them to do: instead of helping them get some sort of balance in their lives, they are encouraging them to act out their negative, angry fantasies by 'throwing darts at an image of Bush.'
That can't be healthy. It is far better to calm these people down with rational thought, get them to see that their fears are unjustified, that their grandchildren are not going to be draughted etc. than pander to their negative fears.
It really does seem that the shrinks are making it worse rather than better. They are not helping by taking the fantasies of troubled people and allowing them to give vent to their nonsense without the counter-arguments being told.
Its a little bit like telling a paranoid person that believes the governemnt are trying to kill him that he is in fact right, and indulging him in his paranoid fantasy.
Who is really sick here?
